After quitting cinema, Thalapathy Vijay will contest the upcoming Assembly polls in Tamil Nadu from the Perambur and Trichy East constituencies. His party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), announced the names of candidates recently. All 234 constituencies in the Tamil Nadu Assembly will vote in a single phase on April 23. Ahead of the poll day, Vijay declared his assets as part of his nomination. In his official affidavit, the actor-turned-politician disclosed his wealth, investments, movable and immovable assets along with the financial portfolio of his family members including estranged wife Sangeeta Sornalingam, son Jason Sanjay and daughter Divya Saasha.
How Rich Is Thalapathy Vijay in 2026?
According to the details submitted in the nomination affidavit, Vijay’s total worth is Rs 404.58 crore. Tamil publications cited the declaration and revealed that his income for 2024–25 is Rs 184 crore. Cash in hand is Rs 2 lakh, whereas bank balance is Rs 320 crore. Jason Sanjay and Divya Saasha have around Rs 4 lakhs total in their accounts. Sangeetha’s bank balance is said to be Rs 10.43 crore.

As per the declaration, Vijay has reserved Rs 25 crore through FD in Indian Bank, Rs 40 crore in FD at Axis Bank, Rs 20 crore FD in HDFC Bank and 391 sovereigns of gold jewellery for his wife Sangeetha, who filed for divorce earlier this year.

The TVK leader’s wife owns jewellery including 2 kg silver, 3132 grams gold, and 134.91 carats of diamonds. As per the affidavit, Sangeetha Sornalingam has declared movable assets of around Rs 15.51 crore.
