Prime Minister Narendra Modi met India’s medallists at the 2026 Commonwealth Games and shared a reel with them. India won 39 medals in the Glasgow games and finished fourth on the medal tally.

Indian Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi met India’s medallists at the recently concluded 2026 Commonwealth Games (CWG), which took place in Glasglow from 23rd July to 1st August. The country came back home from Scotland with 39 medals from the 23rd edition of the quadrennial games.
Despite several sports which have seen India win a good tally of medals in the past not being part of the roster this time around, India managed to finish fourth behind Australia, England, and Scotland. Their tally includes 39 medals, of which there were 13 gold, 17 silvers, and nine bronze medals.
India won 16 medals in athletics (3 golds, seven silvers, and three bronze medals) and 10 medals in boxing (7 golds and 3 silver medals) and eight in weightlifting (1 gold, six silver, and 1 bronze medal) and one in powerlifting.
