The Indian Army opened a retaliatory firing at the Pakistani troops across the Line of Control (LoC) on Sunday. The incident took place around 11 AM in the Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

“At about 11 AM today, Pakistan troops opened small arms fire on own (Indian) post across LoC in Poonch Sector, J&K. The fire was retaliated appropriately by the Indian Army. No casualties to own side,” the Army officials told ANI.
Terrorists on February 8 fired at a petrol from a forested area across LoC in Keri sector of Rajouri, prompting a retaliatory response from Indian soldiers.
During the intervening night of February 4 and 5, a landmine explosion in the Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district resulted in casualties among terrorists attempting to cross the LoC. However, there was no official confirmation on the number of fatalities. Between May and December last year, Jammu and Kashmir witnessed a surge in terrorist attacks, leading to intensified counteroffensives by security forces.
