Gujarat government on Thursday compulsorily retired two IAS officers, K Rajesh and Gaurav Dahiya, as part of ‘Operation Gangajal’—its exercise against officials facing corruption, disciplinary proceedings and serious misconduct.
A Gujarat government official said the action against the two officers was based on their service records and the proceedings against them.
Rajesh, a 2011-batch IAS officer, was already under suspension when the government ordered his compulsory retirement. He was accused of taking bribes in connection with the issue of arms licences and allotment of government land.
