Salman Khan and Farhan Akhtar’s film is a massive period action drama mounted on a grand scale, with the story envisioned to unfold across two parts.

On January 5 this year, Pinkvilla first revealed that Salman Khan is teaming up with The Family Man makers Raj and DK for an action-comedy film. After locking an action-comedy, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is now exploring another ambitious project. Pinkvilla has exclusively learnt that Salman is in talks with Farhan Akhtar for a large-scale period drama based on one of the most celebrated characters from Indian history.
According to sources, the conversations between Salman Khan and Farhan Akhtar have been ongoing for over a month. The actor is said to have responded positively to the story and scale of the project, which is being planned as a theatrical action spectacle.
“Salman Khan and Farhan Akhtar have been meeting regularly over the last month and discussing a potential collaboration. Salman has loved what he has heard so far and has shown keen interest in the project. The talks are still at an early stage and have not yet reached the paperwork phase, but both sides are excited about the possibility of coming together for the first time,” a source informed Pinkvilla.
The source further reveals, “It is a massive period action drama mounted on a grand scale. The idea is to tell the story across 2 films.” However, more clarity on the project and its progress is expected by the end of the year.
If everything falls into place, the untitled period drama could become Salman Khan’s next feature after his superhero comedy with Raj and DK.
