The victim, 80-year-old Uddhav Singh Joshi, has alleged that the doctor initially misbehaved with him and then dragged him out of the hospital. He said the doctor also kicked and slapped him repeatedly.

A senior citizen was dragged, slapped and kicked inside a District Hospital in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh and the victim has alleged it was a doctor who misbehaved with him and thrashed him brutally. 80-year-old Uddhav Singh Joshi said he had gone to the government hospital with his wife for treatment and they were standing in a queue.
He claimed one of the doctors, Dr Rajesh Mishra, first misbehaved with him and then said that they were not following the rules while standing in the queue. He said the doctor then dragged him, kicked and slapped him as well. Joshi further alleged that his wife was also beaten by the doctor.
Responding to the concern, Civil Surgeon, Doctor GL Ahirwar said, “Yes, there was an argument between the doctor and the senior citizen, but the victim’s allegations are false that he was kicked and doctor misbehaved with him.”
However, in a video that has surfaced, a man is seen dragging the elderly out of the hospital. He then slaps and kicks the victim. The incident reportedly happened on April 17.
Ahirwar said the doctor has been instructed not to behave in any such manner, and elderly people can be prioritised in the queue. However, the matter has now become political with the Congress training guns at BJP’s Mohan Yadav government in the state.
“Chhatarpur incident clearly shows that Mohan Govt has entirely failed in giving better health services and this govt has turned into a JUNGALRAAJ,” said Abhinav Barolia, Congress Spokesperson.
Meanwhile, BJP leader Ajay Yadav said that the administration has been asked to act against those guilty. “The Dist administration has been given Instructions to take action against those whoever are guilty in it … As BJP government in MP is committed to the privileged service of Poor and Senior citizens on priority, ” he added.
