At least three people were killed, and one went missing after a massive landslide struck a Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana road-cutting site in Arunachal Pradesh’s Upper Subansiri district, burying several labourers under debris amid heavy rainfall and difficult terrain.
The victims have been identified as Tadu Baki, Taji Rai and Babul Ali. One person, Markarosh Basumatary, remains unaccounted for and is feared to have been buried in the landslide. Another person, Sonar Basumatary, sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment at Daporijo hospital.
RESCUE OPERATIONS UNDERWAY

Continuous rainfall in the region has compounded the situation, leaving the terrain unstable and raising concerns about further landslides during the rescue operation.
Officials and rescue agencies have been urged to maintain extreme caution while continuing the search for the missing person. The priority remains locating Markarosh Basumatary while ensuring the safety of the personnel involved in the operation.
