A massive portion of the wall, located in front of the Jwala Mata Temple, of the historic Amer Fort in Rajasthan’s Jaipur, collapsed on Saturday amid heavy rain. Amer Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Jaipur’s most popular tourist attractions, receives thousands of visitors daily.
Confirming the development, Amer Palace Superintendent Dr. Rakesh Chholak said, “Due to heavy rains in Amer today on 23.08.2025, the wall of Rambagh in front of Jwala Mata Temple has collapsed. Keeping in mind the well-being of elephants and tourists, the elephant ride in Amer Palace is closed till further orders.”

A video shared by news agency PTI shows a massive section of the Amer Fort wall has collapsed amid heavy rainfall.

Notably, torrential rains have disrupted normal life in several parts of Rajasthan, with Kota, Bundi, Sawai Madhopur, and Tonk facing a flood-like situation.

Low-lying areas have been inundated, disrupting road and rail connectivity in eastern Rajasthan, which has received most rain, and several villages have been cut off due to waterlogging.
Several districts, including Bundi, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Karauli, and Jaipur, recorded over 10 cm of rainfall till Saturday morning, leading to widespread waterlogging.
