Actress Khushi Mukherjee is in trouble over her recent remark about Indian T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav. Social media influencer Faizan Ansari has filed a Rs 100 crore defamation case against Khushi following the latter’s appearance in an interview where she claimed that Suryakumar “used to message me a lot.” Her statement landed her in rough waters, and she is now facing a police complaint for her allegedly “false and damaging” statement. Khushi has worked in the South industry, along with participating in popular reality shows like Splitsvilla X, Love School Season 3, among others. She was also seen with Arbaaz Khan in Mutra Visarjan Varjit Hai last year.

Trouble erupted when Khushi, during a public event replied to a question about dating cricketers. She told paparazzi that while she had no plans of dating one, she claimed that many cricketers were interested in her. Taking Suryakumar’s name, the actress alleged that though he used to message her in the past, they were no longer on talking terms, and hence she didn’t want to see her name getting linked with him.
Defamation case for remark on Suryakumar Yadav
Soon after her comment went viral on social media, Mumbai-based Faizan Ansari lodged a complaint at the Ghazipur police station against Khushi’s claims on January 13. Infact, Ansari reportedly travelled all the way from Mumbai to Ghazipur to file an FIR in the matter. According to Times of India, Ansari accused Khushi of deliberately making defamatory statements about Suryakumar Yadav, calling it a publicity stunt. He said this can cause harm to the reputation of the sportsman who represents the nation. Ansari even demanded strict action against Khushi and a jail term of at least seven years.

Ansari posted a video on his X (formerly Twitter) handle where he speaks to the reporters, stating “We want an FIR to be registered immediately against Khushi Mukherjee. I have mentioned this in my written complaint as well and requested strict action. At the very least, serious charges should be applied. More than two million people follow me on Instagram, and crores of people watch my videos.”
