US President Donald Trump on Monday renewed calls to end the Ukraine-Russia war, urging Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to stop attacks on Russian oil refineries.
In a post on Truth Social, the US President warned that the strikes are contributing to pressure on global diesel supplies and fuel prices.
Trump-Zelenskyy Meeting On Tuesday
Trump made the remarks ahead of his planned meeting with Zelenskyy in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly. The two leaders spoke over a phone call on Sunday, with the Ukrainian President later describing the conversation as an “important conversation” and saying their upcoming meeting “could change a lot”.

Trump Says ‘Russia Has Lost Control’
“Russia has unfortunately lost control of its Diesel Oil Industry due to its War with Ukraine. A large number of their Diesel refineries have been blown up and are, at least temporarily, out of commission,” Trump wrote.
He added, “This ridiculous and never ending War with Ukraine must be ended. The whole World suffers as 25,000 people, mostly soldiers, are being killed each month. What a shame!”
