Virat Kohli won hearts with a gesture after spotting the Indian flag being dropped to the ground at the Sydney Cricket Ground by a fan. The 36-year-old’s patriotic act was caught on camera and quickly went viral on social media.
Virat Kohli won hearts with an ultimate gesture of patriotism after his match-winning knock for India against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Saturday (October 25) while walking back towards the dressing room after the game ended.
The star batter noticed that a fan had dropped the Indian flag on the ground. Showing respect towards the tri-colour, Kohli decided to pick the flag and handed it back to the fan while telling him something, which was not audible in the clip
Kohli was widely hailed for his gesture as the video went viral all over social media
Kohli will now next be seen in action on 30th November when India face South Africa in the first of three ODIs in Ranchi.
“You might’ve played international cricket for a long time, but the game shows you ways (on his ducks in the first two games). Almost 37 (years old) in the next few days, but chasing always brings the best out of me, nice to have a big match-winning partnership (with Rohit). I think from early on, we’ve understood the situation well, that’s what we’ve always done well (as a pair), we’re probably the most experienced pair now, but back in the day when we were young – we knew we could take the game away from them with big partnerships.
