This is the moment Meghan Markle’s one-legged alleged pedophile dad Thomas Markle was hauled out of his Florida nursing home in handcuffs Friday on federal child porn charges.
Markle — wearing a sloppy and stained shirt showing a sunglasses-clad cat sipping an iced coffee — scowled as cameras snapped him being placed into custody by FBI agents at Maravida Senior Living in Lakeland.
The stunning photo was taken by The Sun, which broke the story that hordes of child porn was allegedly found at Markle’s Philippines home.
The US Department of Justice on Friday charged Markle with keeping child sexual abuse material — including disgusting photos that allegedly showed himself engaged in sex acts with prepubescent girls. The disturbing evidence was allegedly found at Markle’s home overseas and inside storage units in Los Angeles.
Markle Sr., who had his leg amputated in December 2025, was dressed in black pants and had his remaining foot shoved into one shoe, with his bulging ankle on display.
The estranged father of the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, has been charged with one count of possession of child abuse material.
Markle could face 20 years behind bars if convicted of the charge.
Just hours after his arrest, Markle was released on bond and ordered to have no contact with minors.
The Duchess’ father, who has dementia and recently had part of his leg amputated, appeared in federal court in downtown Tampa in a wheelchair, where Magistrate Judge Lindsay Griffin said the alleged pedophile was being released back to his nursing home.
He will also be subject to electronic monitoring and was warned not to engage in intimidation or retaliation against witnesses.
Griffin told the court that she was ordering a psychiatric and mental health evaluation, which she deemed was important given his age and health condition.
“It’s important in the circumstances, given Mr Markle’s age and health condition, that there is an evaluation to determine he understands the nature and consequences of the proceedings against him,” Griffin said.
The feds allegedly seized 78 items, including slides, film negatives, and books that contained child porn materials after they raided Markle’s home in the Philippines and two storage units he’d been renting for roughly 18 years in Los Angeles.
“Mr. Markle is accused of possessing child sexual abuse material, including photographs depicting himself with minor girls,” said First Assistant United States Attorney Bill Essayli. “These allegations are extremely serious, and we will prosecute Mr. Markle to the fullest extent of federal law.”
