MP Mahima Kumari said Jammu and Kashmir “is, and will always remain, an integral and inalienable part of India”.

India hit back at Pakistan at the United Nations, accusing Islamabad of abusing the international forum to spread “lies and falsehoods” about Jammu and Kashmir and asserting that the Union Territory would always remain an integral and inalienable part of India.
MP Mahima Kumari delivered India’s Right of Reply in response to a statement by Pakistan’s representative in the UN General Assembly’s Fourth Committee, which deals with special political and decolonisation matters, on the agenda item of decolonisation.
“It is regrettable that Pakistan continues to abuse the UN platform to peddle lies and falsehoods about the Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir,” India said in its response, shared by India at UN, New York, on social media.
Mahima Kumari also accused Pakistan’s armed forces and their proxies of killing civilians who had been protesting for their basic rights, freedoms and necessities in recent months.
“Pakistan, with an established record of military dictatorships, sham elections, incarceration of popular elected leaders, religious extremism, and sponsoring terrorism as an instrument of state policy, should in the future refrain from preaching homilies on this platform,” she said.
Reiterating India’s position on the region, Mahima Kumari said Jammu and Kashmir “is, and will always remain, an integral and inalienable part of India”.
The latest exchange comes after India confronted Pakistan over terrorism during a separate session of the UN General Assembly’s Sixth Committee, which was discussing measures to eliminate international terrorism.
