Mandhana has played a total of 32 international matches for India in 2025 and, with the help of 6 centuries and 7 fifties, has amassed a total of 1703 runs.

Smriti Mandhana was on fire for Team India on Sunday (December 28) against Sri Lanka. In the fourth T20I of the ongoing five-match series, the left-handed batter from Sangli opened the innings for the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side at Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram and scored 80 runs from 48 balls. During her stay at the crease, the 29-year-old top-order batter hammered 11 fours and 3 sixes and also added 162 runs in 92 balls for the first wicket with Shafali Verma (79 runs from 46 balls; 12 fours and 1 six).
The 80-run knock by Smriti on Sunday helped her win the Player Of The Match award, and it also helped her enter her name in the history books by becoming the first player in the world to score more than 1700 runs in a calendar year in women’s cricket.
The previous record of scoring the most runs in a calendar year in women’s cricket was also in the name of Mandhana. The vice-captain of the Indian women’s cricket team amassed a total of 1659 runs in 35 matches across formats last year, and in the ongoing calendar year 2025, she has scored 1703 runs in 32 matches played so far.
In 2025, Mandhana has scored 1362 runs in 23 ODIs and 341 runs in nine T20I matches. She is the only cricketer in the world to score more than 1000 runs in a calendar year in women’s ODIs.
Smriti Mandhana in 2025
In 2024, Smriti amassed a total of 149 runs in one Test, 747 runs in 13 ODIs and 763 runs in 23 T20Is.
In the list of batters with the most runs in a calendar year in women’s cricket, Smriti is followed by South Africa’s captain, Laura Wolvaardt. Wolvaardt, who finished as the highest run-getter in the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 and also slammed a century in the semifinal and final of that tournament, scored 1593 runs in 37 matches played across formats last year.
In addition to breaking her own record of scoring the most runs in a calendar year in women’s cricket on Sunday, Mandhana also broke Harmanpreet Kaur’s record of hitting the most sixes for India in the 20-over format of the game.
