BJP leader Smriti Irani shared an AI-generated Bhoothnath video targeting Rahul Gandhi’s objections to electoral roll revision. The satire advances the BJP’s case for removing deceased and bogus voter entries.

Senior BJP leader Smriti Irani has taken a swipe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his opposition to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, sharing an AI-generated video featuring fictional versions of Gandhi and Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan.
The video uses Bachchan’s ghost character from his 2008 film Bhoothnath to explain the BJP’s argument for revising voter lists and removing the names of deceased people and bogus entries.
Sharing the video on X, Irani wrote, “You can wake someone who is genuinely asleep, but not someone acting blind just to mislead the nation!”

The video depicts a fictional conversation between Rahul Gandhi and a police officer, with Amitabh Bachchan appearing as the ghost character inspired by Bhoothnath.
In the clip, the character portrayed as Gandhi points towards Bachchan’s character and tells the police officer, “Everyone knows that he is dead and can’t vote. He is just not letting it be proved that he has died by twisting rules.”
Bachchan’s character then explains why his name remains on the electoral roll, saying, “Some corrupt officer didn’t issue my death certificate; hence, I remained on the voting list. You will be surprised to know that some party cast a vote in my name.”
