BJP leader Kangana Ranaut criticised Rahul Gandhi’s recent Lok Sabha speech, suggesting he should seek therapy for discussing his childhood traumas.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and MP from Himachal Pradesh, Kangana Ranaut suggested that Rahul Gandhi should go to a therapist as she pointed out the Leader of Opposition (LoP) sharing about his childhood traumas and that he was petrified, in his Lok Sabha speech during the debate on the Women Reservation and Delimitation Bills on Friday. Kangana Ranaut questioned why Rahul Gandhi is subjecting us to all his “childhood traumas” by telling his grandmother stories.
In an exclusive conversation with The Times Group Editor-in-Chief Navika Kumar, when asked what she has to say on Rahul Gandhi’s speech in the Parliament, Kangana Ranaut said that he (Rahul) is taking all of this for granted and made Lok Sabha into some sort of a stand-up comedian show. Kangana also pulled up the LoP over his statements where he told the Lok Sabha Speaker, “Maza Aayega Aapko, Intezaar Toh Karo, Maza Aayega Aapko (You will enjoy it, just wait, you will enjoy it.)” during the Parliament special session. She further suggested that Rahul should join movies… but should not do all of this here in the Parliament.

In another statement, the BJP MP said, “I always say things about his (Rahul’s) speeches but then I’m questioned. Rather than questioning him, why you guys question me about his speeches and when I tell you heartfelt feelings for his speeches than a controversy is made out of this.”
Speaking on the women reservation amendment act that failed to pass the Lok Sabha test, Kangana Ranaut said, “You know it is such a demotivating, absolutely devastating event that I just witnessed, especially because the hopes were very high and we were 100 per cent sure that eventually and finally the women of this country will get justice, and especially because the women’s reservation bill had got unanimous support in 2023… so spirits were high and all the women, especially the ones who have the ambitions of policy making, leadership, and all that… and I’m feeling that someone has stabbed us from the back… it is very unsettling, and I can imagine the collective meltdown that women of this nation are going through. It was so heartbreaking to see when the bill failed and there were these loud cheers, claps, and hooting from the Opposition side that was kind of heartbreaking, but we should have faith in our leadership, and our Prime Minister will give justice to the women of this country.”

When asked if Priyanka Gandhi Vadra would make a better Leader of Opposition, Kangana said, “Well I have nothing to say about that. They (the Opposition) have the choice to make whoever they want to make the leader, but definitely she seems like very much together. She (Priyanka) also yesterday gave a speech which can be called very sensible on many levels. So she is a sensible person. I won’t say she’s a remarkable woman… but I would definitely, I can’t have any sort of such allegations against her. I have no sort of evidence or not noticed anything alarming or anything out of ordinary. She is definitely very much together. I mean that’s the least we can expect from a person we socially meet… So I don’t know much about her, but she is a pleasant person as much as I know her.”

Should Govt Had Taken Oppn In Confidence? Kangana Answers
When asked if the government had taken the opposition into confidence, the women reservation amendment act would have been passed in the Lok Sabha, Kangana said, “the opposition was already onboard when they got together in 2023 to pass it and when today it was to be implemented then also everyone was together.” Adding further, the BJP leader mentioned about Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement telling the opposition that he was ready to bring an official amendment ensuring a 50 per cent increase in seats for states during the Parliament debate, but everybody saw what they did.
Further speaking on the women’s reservation and delimitation bills, Kangana said, “I think today it was an attack on the spirit of India’s daughters and women.”
The constitutional amendment to the Women Reservation Act 2023 failed to pass in Lok sabha when put to vote where 298 members voted in support of the bill, while 230 voted against it. Of the 528 members who voted, the bill required 352 votes to secure a two-thirds majority for passage.
