PM Modi urged state governments to make sure all eligible real estate projects are registered under the RERA Act
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday underlined the importance of strict compliance with the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) provisions, saying it is essential for restoring trust in the housing market.
He made these remarks while reviewing three major infrastructure projects worth over Rs 62,000 crore during a PRAGATI meeting, the government’s ICT-based multi-modal platform for Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation.
According to a press release by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), the Prime Minister reviewed projects spanning the sectors of road transport, power, and water resources across various states and union territories.
Emphasising their strategic importance, PM Modi called for coordinated efforts to overcome delays and ensure timely completion.
PM Modi highlighted that project delays not only lead to cost overruns but also deprive citizens of essential infrastructure and services. He urged all stakeholders to focus on efficiency and accountability, stating that timely delivery is crucial for achieving broader socio-economic development.
The Prime Minister also reviewed public grievances linked to RERA and stressed the need to improve both the quality and speed of grievance resolution to ensure fairness for homebuyers.
He urged state governments to make sure all eligible real estate projects are registered under the RERA Act, reaffirming that strict compliance with the law is vital for strengthening public confidence in the housing sector.
