Varanasi gears up for Dev Deepawali 2025 with 10 lakh diyas, a 3D laser show, green fireworks, and tributes to Shiva, Parvati, Buddha, and others.

Varanasi Dev Deepawali: As the countdown to Dev Deepawali 2025 begins, the temple town of Varanasi is gearing up to dazzle the world once again with a spectacle of faith, light, and culture.
The city of Lord Shiva is once again poised to witness a grand celebration, as over 10 lakh diyas will illuminate the semi-circular ghats and waterbodies of Kashi on November 5, Uttar Pradesh Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said, as quoted by news agency PTI.
According to the press statement, the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department, in collaboration with the UP Government and Varanasi Mahotsav Committee, has started large-scale preparations to ensure the celebrations unfold seamlessly. Diyas, oil, and wicks are being distributed from Raj Ghat, while the ghats and opposite banks have been divided into 20 sectors, each monitored by a nodal officer to oversee crowd control and coordination.
The festivities will also include the lighting of lamps on the ghats and on the opposite bank of the river.

The grand evening will also feature a 25-minute 3D projection and laser show, ‘Kashi Katha’, narrating the spiritual and cultural evolution of the ancient city, followed by eco-friendly ‘green fireworks’ at the Ganga Dwar of Kashi Vishwanath Dham, the statement added.
