IRAN has accused the US of a “brutal and blatant violation” of its peace deal after Donald Trump launched fresh strikes on Tehran.
Dramatic footage shows the moment US forces struck missile and drone storage sites in response to an Iranian attack on a cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian media said a projectile struck the area around a pier in Sirik in southern Iran on Friday.
Video shows a huge explosion erupt from the US strike, as a mushroom cloud of smoke rises from the target site.
“These brutal attacks, which targeted Iranian coastal surveillance facilities, are a blatant violation of the memorandum of understanding to end the war”, the Iranian foreign ministry said in a statement.
Iran hit back with a series of dawn strikes on Bahrain today, the country’s ministry of foreign affairs said.
The ministry condemned the drone strikes as “heinous aggression” and placed “sole responsibility on Tehran for undermining peace efforts”.
US Central Command said: “CENTCOM forces launched strikes today in direct response to continued Iranian aggression against commercial shipping.
“Military aircraft targeted Iranian military surveillance infrastructure, communication systems, air defense sites, drone storage facilities, and minelayer capabilities.
“Commercial vessel transits through the Strait of Hormuz continue. U.S. forces remain vigilant, lethal, and ready.”
On Saturday, a tanker came under attack in the Strait of Hormuz, according to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations centre.
The crew of the tanker were reported to be safe, with no environmental damage.
Iranian state television reported that the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps had fired “warning shots” at ships crossing the waterway that had not been approved by the regime.
Friday’s strikes are the first time that the US has attacked Iran since the ceasefire was agreed to on June 14.
Trump said on Truth Social just hours earlier that Iran had broken the weeks- old ceasefire by attacking a tanker with a drone.
Vice President JD Vance wrote on X: “Iran signed a ceasefire agreement. We have honored it. If they have disagreements about how the MOU is being applied, they can pick up the phone.
“But violence will be met with violence.”
US Central Command (CENTCOM) described the strikes as “a powerful response” to the drone attack in a statement, underlining the severity of the military action.
It added: “The unwarranted aggression against commercial shipping by Iranian forces clearly violated the ceasefire.”
Iran blitzed the M/V Ever Lovely as it was crossing the Strait of Hormuz yesterday with at least four one-way attack drones.
Trump said: “One of the Drones solidly hit the upper deck of a large and very expensive Cargo Carrying Ship.
“Damage was done, but the Ship was able to proceed on its way.”
The president revealed three of the craft were shot down.
Trump said: “Obviously, this is a foolish violation of our Ceasefire Agreement.”
Ever Lovely, the Singapore-flagged vessel was following the UKMTO-recommended route through the Strait of Hormuz when it was struck.
The company added: “All crew members remain safe as does the vessel itself and all cargo.”
The incident prompted a planned evacuation of more than 11,000 sailors stuck in the region.
The US military confirmed it continues to coordinate safe passage for commercial vessels travelling through the strait amid rising tensions.
CENTCOM said: “Iran’s dangerous behaviour undermined freedom of navigation as commerce increasingly flows through the vital international trade corridor.”
“The U.S. military remains present and vigilant to ensure all aspects of the agreement with Iran are adhered to, obeyed, and in full force and effect.
The strait was reopened as a result of a ceasefire deal between the US and Iran earlier this month.
