Sachin Tendulkar is considered the greatest batter of all time. He has played 664 matches across all formats in a career spanning 20 years. He has scored 34,347 runs alongwith 100 centuries, the most by any batter in the history of the game across all formats. He has played some memorable innings throughout his career. Some of his most memorable knocks include the two centuries he scored vs Australia in 1998 at Sharjah, which is often referred to as ‘Desert Storm’; and the 98 against Pakistan in the 2003 World Cup. However, none of these are Tendulkar’s favourite innings.
In a fan interaction session title ‘Ask Sachin’ on Reddit, Sachin Tendulkar said that his century in the Test match vs England at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai in 2008 has been the most meaningful innings that he has played.
“There are many, but the most meaningful was against England in Chennai in 2008,” the legendary India batter added.
India needed 387 runs to win the Test match against England in Chennai in 2008. Sachin Tendulkar starred for them slamming 103 from 196 balls, as India chased down the target.
