Singer and former Bigg Boss OTT contestant Neha Bhasin has sparked a fresh controversy by accusing influencer and designer Nancy Tyagi of falsely claiming that her Cannes 2025 outfit was self-made. On 18 May, Neha took to Instagram to point out that Nancy’s corset, worn on the red carpet, looked strikingly similar to one Neha had worn months earlier.
Neha wrote, ‘This corset looks too familiar hmmmm. Just wondering,’ and later posted another story saying, ‘Same same,’ along with a picture of herself in the same outfit.
Things escalated when it came to light that Nancy may not have stitched the outfit herself, as she had claimed in an emotional Instagram post. Surbhi Gupta, a boutique owner in Bandra, told The Free Press Journal that Nancy had bought the corset dress for Rs 25,000 before heading to Cannes.
‘She may have added a cape to make it look different, but the main dress is definitely ours. There was no barter or collaboration. She bought it, so she can wear it however she wants – but it’s our design,’ Surbhi clarified.
Nancy’s DIY image comes under fire
Nancy Tyagi is known for designing and stitching her own clothes, and she’s gained popularity for showing her transformation videos online. In her Instagram post about her Cannes outfit, Nancy shared that the colour was a tribute to her mother and that it took her nearly a month to finish the look.
