MICHIGAN head coach Sherrone Moore has been FIRED after an urgent investigation.
The football chief has been the leader of the team – who are 9-3 on the year – for two seasons.
Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel said in a statement that “credible evidence was found that Coach Moore engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member.
“The conduct constitutes a clear violation of University policy, and U-M maintains zero tolerance for such behavior,”
The announcement was made on Wednesday afternoon.
Michigan has now named Biff Poggi as their interim head coach.
Moore is married to his wife, Kelli.
The pair have been married since 2015.
They have three daughters together.
He is yet to comment on the announcement.
Moore has been head coach of Michigan since 2024.
That was after Jim Harbaugh left for the Los Angeles Chargers.
The team went 8-5 in his first season, and won the ReliaQuest Bowl.
The Wolverines have had a solid year at 9-3 throughout 2025.
However, they did lose to bitter rivals the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Moore has also been the team’s tight ends coach from 2018 to 2020.
