Kranti Gaud’s outstanding performance in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 has led to her father’s reinstatement in the police force. Kranti’s father, Munna Singh Gaud, served as a constable in the police force before being dismissed in 2012, which pushed the family into financial turmoil.
India fast bowler Kranti Gaud’s World Cup heroics have helped her father, Munna Singh Gaud, rejoin police force following his dismissal in 2012. Kranti was one of the key members of India’s successful campaign in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, having scalped nine wickets from eight matches. Following India’s historic triumph, Kranti was felicitated upon her return to home state Madhya Pradesh by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.
During the felicitation programme held at the chief minister’s official residence in Bhopal, Kranti was honoured in front of her parents and coach. During the ceremony, CM Mohan Yadav also assured to resolve issues related to Kranti’s father, Munna Singh Gaud’s job in the police department.
Munna Singh was a police constable and was dismissed from the job in 2012, which left his family in financial turmoil. As a result, Kranti grew up in difficult circumstances but never let her situation come in the way of her dreams. During an interview, Kranti had expressed her wish to see her father in police uniform again and retire with dignity.

Her wish is finally going to come true soon after receiving an assurance from Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. During the ceremony, CM Yadav and Madhya Pradesh Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishwas Sarang also honoured Gaud’s parents and coach.
“If you ever feel like giving up, think about your dreams. At times we only have one meal a day. Even then, I didn’t give up. Today, I have brought honour to my family and Bundelkhand. I am very happy,” said Kranti during the felicitation ceremony recalling her days of struggle.
The Madhya Pradesh government has announced a cash reward of 1 crore for Kranti Gaud. Additionally, a world-class stadium will be constructed in her hometown of Chhatarpur to train and nurture local athletes.
