In unfortunate news, renowned industrialist and actress Karisma Kapoor’s ex-husband, Sunjay Kapoor, has passed away. He was 53 years old. He had a heart attack while playing polo in the UK, after which he succumbed to death, as per a report in India Today. He was married to Priya Sachdev.
A source told the portal that the incident occurred during a polo match, and he was immediately given medical assistance. However, despite efforts to revive him, he passed away.
Sunjay Kapoor was the chairman of Sona Comstar (formerly Sona BLW Precision), a manufacturer of automotive components. Apart from this, he was also a director on the boards of several companies and was actively involved in various professional organizations. Sunjay was also an avid polo player and actively participated in the sport.
Karisma Kapoor tied the knot with Sunjay Kapur in 2003. The actress had known him since childhood, as he was the brother of her close friends, Superna and Mandira. Their match was set up by Karisma’s mother, Babita. However, her father, Randhir Kapoor, reportedly opposed it. The duo married at the actress’s ancestral home, Krishna Raj bungalow in Mumbai.
