Talks between Jharkhand government representatives and job aspirants protesting alleged JPSC and JSSC-CGL exam irregularities remained inconclusive in Ranchi. Students continued their 14-day agitation, demanding a CBI probe and cancellation of disputed exams. A protesting student fell ill during a hunger strike, while AISA president Neha Bora alleged an ink attack during a march.
Talks between delegations of job aspirants and the Jharkhand government, held at the State Guest House (Circuit House) in Ranchi on Friday, remained inconclusive as the student protest entered its 14th day.
Among other demands, job aspirants are seeking a CBI probe and cancellation of exams due to alleged irregularities in the JPSC and JSSC-CGL recruitment tests.
Speaking to reporters, Jharkhand higher and technical education minister Sudivya Kumar Sonu said that talks were held in a positive atmosphere. He added that the government would consider their demands and inform job aspirants of its decisions.
Emerging from the meeting, students said talks were held in a very positive, family-like atmosphere. They however, claimed that their protest at Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium would continue. The meeting lasted nearly two hours.

The Jharkhand government was represented by Ministers Dipika Pandey Singh, Sudivya Kumar Sonu, Sanjay Kumar Singh Yadav, along with Chamra Linda, and an additional chief secretary rank officer. Rahul, one of four protesters on a hunger strike in Ranchi, fell ill as the protest continued. Doctors attending to the protesters took Rahul to a hospital after his health deteriorated. In such a situation, the government may want to end the deadlock soon.
Meanwhile, a man threw ink at All India Students’ Association (AISA) president Neha Bora during a protest march to the Jharkhand Assembly in Ranchi on Friday. The incident occurred near Birsa Chowk when the protesters led by two student organisations – AISA and AISF – were marching towards the assembly.
Responding to the incident, Boara said, “RSS-BJP goons throw ink at me and around 20 other women in Ranchi, Jharkhand! For them ink is a tool to try to shame others, we will write the future with ink!”
