German Ambassador to India Dr. Philipp Ackermann has invited skilled Indian workers to work in Germany saying their stable migration policies don’t change fundamentally overnight.
German Ambassador to India Dr Philipp Ackermann has said that highly skilled Indian workers are welcomed in Germany amid Donald Trump’s H1B visa move. In a video message on X, formerly Twitter, German Ambassador Ackermann took a dig at the United States, saying their policies don’t change fundamentally overnight, as Germany stands out with its stable migration policies and great job opportunities for Indians.
German Envoy’s message to Indian skilled workers has come as Donald Trump at a stroke of his signature on Friday hiked H1B visa fee from $2000-$3000 to $1,00,000 (Rs 88 lakh approx), which means that US companies who are willing to hire foreign employees will have to pay this amount to the US government, making it almost impossible for them to take foreign employees onboard.
Indians are the highest holders of H1B visa and such a move is definitely going to hit the aspirations of thousands of youth, especially techies, who dream of working in tech giants in the United States.
Amid this situation, German Ambassador Ackermann’s message is surely a breather for skilled Indian job seekers.
In his video message, Dr Ackerman said, “This is a good moment to talk about Indians working in Germany. Indians are among the top earners in Germany. Average Indian working in Germany earns more than average German worker in the country. And that’s pretty good news because a high salary means that Indians are contributing big times to our society and welfare. We believe in hard work and also in giving best jobs to the best people.”
