India batted more than five sessions to overturn a 311-run deficit and pull off an unprecedented draw against England in the fourth Test at Old Trafford. India were reduced to 0/2 in their second innings with Yashasvi Jaiswal and B Sai Sudharsan scoring ducks. However, captain Shubman Gill led India’s fightback, slamming his fourth century of the series. Gill and opener KL Rahul stitched a 417-ball partnership, with the latter scoring 90. After their dismissals, all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar completed centuries to take India to a draw, even refusing England captain Ben Stokes’ offer for a draw in order to reach their personal milestones. Stokes was named the ‘Player of the Match’ for scoring 141 runs and taking six wickets in the game. The draw leaves England with a 2-1 lead in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, heading into the final Test at the Oval.
