Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and his longtime partner Georgina Rodriguez have married, ending weeks of speculation over whether they had already tied the knot or were about to do so.
Ronaldo, 41, and Rodriguez, 32, shared the news on Instagram on Wednesday, posting a photograph of their hands showing their wedding bands. The picture was captioned simply: “C ❤️ G”.
No other photographs from the ceremony were shared.
The wedding took place at the Portuguese coastal resort of Cascais, near Lisbon. The Brunswick Group, which manages Ronaldo’s public relations, said their five children attended the “private and intimate” ceremony.
The marriage came exactly a year after Rodriguez announced their engagement on Instagram in August 2025, sharing a photograph of her engagement ring.
About the couple
Ronaldo first met Rodriguez in 2016 while she was working at a Gucci store in Madrid. The pair made their first public appearance together at the Best FIFA Football Awards in Zurich in January 2017.
Their relationship has since grown into one of football’s best-known celebrity romances.
Ronaldo previously spoke about his relationship with Rodriguez in her Netflix series ‘I Am Georgina’, saying he had not expected their relationship to become so serious.
“I didn’t think at the beginning that this would be this strong, that I would fall in love with her,” he said. “I didn’t expect it, honestly. But after a while, I felt that she was the woman of my life.”
Ronaldo and Rodriguez have two daughters together, Alana and Bella. They also raise Ronaldo’s eldest son, Cristiano Jr., and twins Eva Maria and Mateo. The family suffered a devastating loss in 2022 when Bella’s twin brother, Angel, died shortly after birth.
