‘Don’t come to Delhi airport’: CJP founder’s fresh appeal ahead of June 6 protest

  • June 5, 2026

CJP said a large gathering at the airport could disrupt normal operations and create difficulties for both travellers and security personnel.

Two days before its proposed protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) on Thursday urged supporters not to gather at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi to receive founder Abhijeet Dipke upon his arrival from the United States.

The appeal came after the Boston-educated Dipke had earlier invited supporters to meet him at the airport on June 6, the day of the planned demonstration seeking the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET paper leak controversy.

In a post on X, the political satire outfit said the response to the airport call had exceeded expectations. “The overwhelming response from those who want the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan to our call to join us at Delhi Airport was beyond our imagination,” the party said.

‘Not feasible,’ says CJP

CJP said a large gathering at the airport could disrupt normal operations and create difficulties for both travellers and security personnel.

“It is not feasible for so many people to assemble at the airport as it would cause inconvenience to the public and the security forces. So please do not come to Delhi airport,” the party said.

Instead of assembling at the airport, supporters were informed that Dipke would proceed to Parliament Street Police Station to personally seek permission for the proposed protest at Jantar Mantar.

In the video attached to the post, Dipke said the response to his call had been much larger than anticipated, prompting the party to reconsider plans. “We don’t want to create any kind of inconvenience to people or to the security forces,” he said.

Calls for peaceful conduct

The party also urged supporters to maintain order and avoid any actions that could lead to disruption.

Calling for restraint, Dipke said supporters should ensure the campaign remains peaceful and lawful. “We are law-abiding citizens,” he said, adding that opponents were looking for an opportunity to “dismiss” or “defame” the movement and that the party should not give them that chance.
