‘Demand Justice For Sanjay And Nishu’: CJP’s Saurav Das Announces March To Parliament Street Police Station

  • September 4, 2026

CJP Co-convener Saurav Das, in a post on X, has announced that he, along with other members of the outfit will reach Parliament Street Police Station in New Delhi, to demand justice for Nishu.

Saurav Das: Will reach Parliament Street Police Station and Demand Justice

CJP Co-convener Saurav Das, in a post on X, has announced that he, along with other members of the outfit will reach Parliament Street Police Station in New Delhi, to demand justice for Nishu- a student protester who participated in the Jantar Mantar stir- and her father Sanjay, who was assaulted.

Das wrote on X, “from Day 1, we have not let any student or protester fight this battle alone.” He took aim at Swatantra Bhardwaj, a man whose video has gone viral. In the video, Bhardwaj is seen admitting to the assault of Sanjay and claiming that he has the backing of Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra and Union Minister Chirag Paswan. Das wrote, “Nishu’s father Sanjay ji’s case is harrowing. Gang members like Swatantra Bhardwaj are openly flaunting that they attempted murder”

🚨#Announcement

From Day 1, we have not let any student or protester fight this battle alone.

Nishu’s father Sanjay ji’s case is harrowing. Gang members like Swatantra Bhardwaj are openly flaunting that they attempted murder on Sanjay ji who was simply peacefully protesting…

Referring to Bhardwaj’s brazen claims, Das wrote, “there is clear admission on the record now. We will not allow Delhi Police to protect criminal gangs in our national capital!” This statement comes after a swell of online backlash following Bhardwaj’s claims. Several political leaders, across opposition parties have condemned the incident, and called for strict action against Bhardwaj.

After the viral social media video showed Bhardwaj claiming he assaulted the father of a protester at Jantar Mantar during the CJP stir, the victim’s daughter released a video on X, appealing for support from Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi. Responding to the appeal, Gandhi has offered his support to the student protester Nishu Aazad.

मुझे अब नेता विपक्ष @RahulGandhi से उम्मीद है वो हमें न्याय जरूर दिलाएंगे।

Bhardwaj admitted to the assault of Sanjay, who is the father of a student- now identified as Nishu- which led to swell of online outrage and political backlash. Nishu then released a video on X, alleging that she and family filed an FIR against the Bhardwaj- who is now seen admitting to the crime- but the police have taken no action in 1.5 months. She alleged that the cops were “fooling her family,” and appealed to Rahul Gandhi, in search of speedy justice.
