“Breaking Bad” star RJ Mitte’s manner of death has been revealed.
The actor, who died at age 34 last month, died by suicide by hanging, according to an official inquest report obtained by Page Six.
The Cameron County, Texas, document confirms Mitte was pronounced dead at 1:32 p.m. on Oct. 12.
The documents also show that an autopsy and toxicology testing were requested, although the results were not included in the records obtained by Page Six.
Mitte died in Brownsville, Texas, on Oct. 12. His representative previously confirmed that he had died by suicide but did not disclose further details surrounding his death.
Mitte’s representative shared in a statement with Page Six that read, “It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of beloved actor, philanthropist and passionate disability rights advocate RJ Mitte.”
“RJ Mitte was best known for his role as Walter ‘Flynn’ White Jr. on AMC’s critically acclaimed, award-winning series ‘Breaking Bad.’ Drawing from his own experience living with cerebral palsy, Mitte brought authenticity to the role and built a platform on disability awareness and inclusion.”
His representative added that “beyond entertaining friends and family around the world,” Mitte was a proud ambassador for United Cerebral Palsy and Shriners Children’s.
Mitte, who played Walter White’s son on “Breaking Bad,” was remembered by several of his former co-stars following his death.
Bryan Cranston, who played Mitte’s father Walter White on the show, took to Instagram to express “deep despair” over the loss.
“I’m in deep despair as I write this tonight. RJ Mitte, my sweet son on Breaking Bad has died,” he wrote, alongside a younger photo of the two of them together. “I met him when he was only 14 years old when he was cast as Walter White Jr., a part he played with such joy and enthusiasm.”
“Born with Cerebral Palsy, he never – ever – allowed that challenge to be an excuse for anything. He met the demanding shooting schedule head on with great determination,” Cranston added.
