Boy, 15, arrested in Punjab for spying for Pak’s ISI; more minors under scanner

  • January 6, 2026

Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI is reportedly involving Indian minors in espionage activities, raising serious security concerns in Punjab. Authorities have arrested a 15-year-old boy and are investigating a wider network of minors linked to ISI handlers.

Minor arrested for espionage as probe finds ISI targeting children in Punjab.

Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI has widened its alleged recruitment net to include Indian minors, with Punjab Police arresting a 15-year-old boy on charges of espionage in a case that has raised serious security concerns.

The arrest was made by Pathankot Police after investigators found that the minor had been in touch with ISI handlers based in Pakistan for nearly a year. According to the police, the boy had been sharing important and sensitive information related to India through his mobile phone.

The minor, who is a resident of Samba district in Jammu, was taken into custody following surveillance and technical analysis that linked his communications to Pakistan-based handlers.

OTHER MINORS UNDER ISI INFLUENCE

During questioning, investigators uncovered indications that the boy was not acting alone. Police sources said several other minors across different districts of Punjab are suspected to be in contact with ISI operatives.

Given the seriousness of the findings, alerts have been sent to police stations across Punjab to remain vigilant and identify other vulnerable children who may have been drawn into similar networks.

Further investigation is underway to establish the scale of the operation and the nature of information that may have been shared.

SSP CONFIRMS INTELLIGENCE INPUTS

Addressing a press conference, Pathankot Senior Superintendent of Police Daljinder Singh Dhillon said, “The child who has been apprehended is 15-years-old and was in contact with ISI handlers in Pakistan. During the investigation, crucial information has come to light about how data was being passed on. We have also found inputs suggesting that other minors in Punjab are involved. Police units across the state have been informed, and action will follow.”

Visuals from the SSP office and the press briefing showed senior officers outlining the investigation and the steps being taken to prevent further breaches.
