Sonia Gandhi has announced plans to release a book detailing her life, aiming to correct misconceptions that have persisted over the years.

Congress leader Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday while talking about the release of a book on her life — “Belonging: A Journey of Love” — said that there is likely to be “some tamasha” when it comes out, as she seeks to clear the air on several aspects of her life that she believes have been inaccurately portrayed over the years.
Taking to X, Sonia Gandhi said that others had spent decades telling her “story” and that it was now her turn to put down her own version of events.
“There’s bound to be some tamasha when this book comes out. After all, others have spent decades telling my ‘story’, now it’s my turn,” Sonia Gandhi wrote in the post.

Referring to the extensive commentary and writing around her life, the former Congress president said that while a lot had been written about her, much of it was not correct. “Since a lot has been written, lot is not correct. I feel to put it down now and describe the facts,” she said.
Sonia Gandhi also referred to differing perceptions about her life and said the book could alter how some people view her, while others may form an even more negative opinion. “My story, people have different views; some people may change the views, some may become worse,” she said, adding, “There is bound to be tamasha.”
