In a tragic incident, at least 10 pilgrims travelling to Maha Kumbh died after their the car collided with a bus in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj on Friday night, claimed media reports. The devotees were reportedly travelling from Chhattisgarh. Several people were also injured in the accident.
The accident took place on the Prayagraj-Mirzapur on the Prayagraj-Mirzapur highway under PS Meja around midnight on Friday night, DCP Yamunanagar, Vivek Chandra Yadav told news agency ANI.

After receiving the information, authorities rushed to the spot. A rescue operation was then launched. The injured were shifted to nearby hospital.
As per the DCP, the bodies have been taken to Swaroop Rani Medical Hospital for postmortem. The reason for the accident is not yet known.
