Delhi Police have arrested three close associates of self-styled godman Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati, also known as Parthasarathy, in connection with the sexual harassment case involving women students of the Sri Sharada Institute of Indian Management-Research in Delhi.
During interrogation, the women admitted that they acted on the directions of Parthasarathy and pressured students on the pretext of discipline and punctuality, sources said.
According to sources, the three women — Shweta Sharma (Associate Dean), Bhawna Kapil (Executive Director) and Kajal (senior faculty) — were taken into custody for allegedly abetting the crime, threatening complainants, and destroying evidence.
Investigators also confirmed that a team had visited a guest house in Almora, Uttarakhand, where Parthasarathy had allegedly stayed with women students. Locals corroborated the account, sources added.
Police said digital evidence has surfaced from the accused’s phone, including inappropriate comments made by him on pictures of women students shared in a yoga WhatsApp group. Despite the mounting evidence, Parthasarathy has shown no guilt or remorse, sources said.
Swami Chaitanyananda, 62, was arrested in Agra last week after evading authorities for several days. He is accused of sexually harassing more than 17 women students enrolled in management courses under the Economic Weaker Section (EWS) scholarship scheme. Complaints against him include allegations of obscene messages, unwanted physical contact, and intimidation.
