Calling the BJP workers his “strength”, Modi said that when he became the chief minister, he had not entered electoral politics even though he was helping conduct elections.

Exhorting his party colleagues about reaching the goal of making India a developed country by 2047, PM Modi on Wednesday said that the 140 crore people of the country will make it a reality.
“There is no reason for India to stop. A hundred years ago, there were less than 40 crore of us. Today, we have more than 140 crore. The 140 crore citizens together will build a developed India by 2047, and we certainly will. We will do it,” Modi said at a programme called Vikshit Bharat Sankalp sabha held to commemorate his 25 years in governance.
Calling the BJP workers his “strength”, Modi said that when he became the chief minister, he had not entered electoral politics even though he was helping conduct elections. “If I had the desire I could have entered earlier. Instead, I was working with tribal communities and in the forests,” Modi said.
The BJP had mounted a month-long programme to commemorate Modi’s 25 years in public life, with him taking over as the chief minister of Gujarat at the age of 50 years on October 4, 2001.
